If you are looking for a charger with which be able to recharge all your devices, including your MacBook Pro, we show you the best option on the market for size, price and features.
Satechi offers us a charger with a very conventional appearance, "brick" type, but with features that few on the market can match. With the enormous advantage of only needing a plug and having a long cord that allows you to place it away from the socket, on top of your desk, for instance. It is made entirely of plastic on the outside, although it has a metallic finish very similar to anodized aluminum, something that characterizes Satechi a lot.
The black front part is the one that houses the four charging ports. The charger has a total power of 108W that is distributed differently by each port. The top USB-C has a maximum power of 90W, while the USB-C colt just below reaches up to 18W at most. To avoid confusion, it is perfectly indicated in each of the ports, as well as its compatibility with Power Delivery.
These maximum powers do not mean that they always load like this, since the charger will regulate the power of each port depending on the needs of the device that we connect. If we connect an iPad Pro in the first USB-C it will charge it at the maximum power that the iPad Pro supports, 20W, we do not have to worry that it will damage it by using the 90W of power of the charger. What happens if we connect the MacBook Pro 16″ M1? It is currently Apple's most powerful laptop and it comes with a 140W charger in the box. I have used the Satechi charger to recharge it and I have not had the slightest problem, although it is true that the charge is slower than with the official charger.
Just below we have two conventional USB-A ports, each of which offers a maximum power of 12W. This means that if we use all four ports (2xUSB-C and 2xUSB-A), the output power of the USB-C ports will be somewhat reduced. These two bottom ports are ideal for recharging slower charging devices, like the Apple Watch or the AirPods, although they can be used perfectly for the iPhone or even the iPad. It is currently Apple's most powerful laptop and it comes with a 140W charger in the box. I have used the Satechi charger to recharge it and I have not had the slightest problem, although it is true that the charge is slower than with the official charger.
Editor's opinion
Getting a single charger for your laptop, iPad, iPhone and other accessories is complicated by the differences in power between devices, and this Satechi 108W Pro USB-C PD achieves it at a very reasonable price. A single plug and you can recharge up to four devices simultaneously with charging powers that reach up to 90W but that are adapted to what each device needs. Its price is also very interesting, especially when we compare it with official chargers, and always with the guarantee offered by a brand like Satechi. Its price is € 89,99 on Amazon (link)
