1Password backs up and restores free local vaults

Sometimes we complain about how little developers listen, and technology companies to their users, yes, from time to time we are surprised to see how there are companies that do want to listen to their users, see their demands and make changes based on the demands of the users of their applications . They are users, but at the end of the day they are clients and acting like that is a great gesture for them.

In this respect, We want to talk about 1Password, app that allows us to save all our passwords and that in recent years has been changing its business model turning it to a subscription model, and worst of all: they removed all the free options ... But as we tell you, sometimes it's good listen to your user-clients and that's what the guys from 1Password have done… After the jump we will tell you more about the changes they have made in their app.

As we mentioned, the Canadians of 1Password would have backed down after all the complaints that were generated on Reddit and other social networks when 7.3.3Password iOS update 1 removed local vault option, a storage price quotation that allowed us to use the app without having to go through the company's servers and save the subscription. This meant that when reinstalling the app on iOS, this local vault could no longer be configured even if we had paid a fee in advance or if we had purchased the Pro subscription.

A bad change that led to all these complaints and the subsequent rollback of the changes by the guys at 1Password. They have released version 7.3.4 of 1Password, a new version that restores the ability to create independent vaults from setup to customers who had previously purchased 1Password 4 for iOS or the in-app Pro feature purchase feature. So now you know, if you are 1Password users, run to update the app, you will have the functions that you have lost again.

It is interesting to see that they have made that decision. Ultimately, its current business model is by subscription. If they do not listen, as simple as stop paying and the developers know it, since they depend on this single business model.

I wish Apple weren't so stupid and would listen a little more to all of us.
