There are many iPhone users who today still cannot enjoy the new form of payment that is spreading little by little in many countries, but that has not just arrived in their country. We are talking about Apple Pay. If the rumors finally come true, this year the Cupertino boys' electronic payment service will expand to a total of seven countries. Apart from China, in the list of candidates we find Spain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, Japan and France, reaching a total of 11 countries.

At the end of February and although it had already been filtered by a Chinese bank, Apple Pay landed in the country. The first days servers destined for Apple Pay were down due to the large number of users who were registering their cards to be able to use Apple Pay for day-to-day purchases.

In the first two days, Apple Pay registered more than 3 million cardsas reported by China Merchants Bank, one of the 19 banks that are offering support for this technology. Users who are already enjoying Apple Pay, can make purchases at all merchants where UnionPay has terminals, which is the vast majority.

Apple had to reach an agreement with UnionPay to be able to expand quickly without spending time and money negotiating with banks to directly support Cupertino's NFC payment technology. He also had to lower the transaction fee to half of what he currently charges in the United States.

For now we will have to wait for American Express, with whom Apple has partnered to expand this technology in Spain, decide to take the first step and allow users to pay with our iPhone or Apple Watch.
