5 good reasons to jailbreak an iPhone

Why install jailbreak 7?

I know that among our readers we have many iOS veterans who love to jailbreak and that could complement this article with a thousand and one more reasons. I also know that we have those much more orthodox users who believe that the best thing about having an iPhone is to enjoy it out of the box and they consider that everything that is written here is a mistake. But today, I've decided to encourage newbies, newcomers to Apple's mobile world, to install jailbreak.

The most important reasons to decide to enjoy the jailbreak on iPhone in my case, are what I have tried to summarize behind these lines. Although I think there are many more depending on what each person is looking for. And of course, I think there are also many reasons to stay with the factory terminal, in which I am working for an article like this, but highlighting just the opposite, that is, the advantages of not touching the iPhone from how Apple has taken it from the oven. But all that will be in the next few days. For now, I want to share my 5 good reasons to jailbreak an iPhone.

5 good reasons to jailbreak an iPhone

  1. Customizing your iPhone: One of the disadvantages that are cited when facing the two great mobile operating systems ios and Android is precisely that of the little customization by the user that Apple's option allows. While in Android even without being a user with privileges (having done the jailbreak process, which in that OS is called root) you can change hundreds of things in the terminal to make it "more yours". On jailbroken iPhone tweaks such as WinterBoard, BytaFont, Springtomize, JellyLock open many possibilities to the user.
  2. New functions- Some were removed in the new version of iOS. Others never existed and are constantly demanded by the community. It is clear that iOS is fantastic, but everything can be improved. In that sense, jailbreak makes the iPhone a little more functional, adding, for example, the night mode with the Eclipse tweak that you don't have in an original way; iPad gestures on iPhone with MultitaskingGestures tweak; or having the possibility of sharing content on social networks in the notification center itself by installing options such as Share Widget for iOS 7. And all this is just some of the many examples that there are to add more things on iPhone thanks to Cydia and the jailbreak.
  3. Eliminate limits placed with Apple and carriers: things as simple as watching high-resolution videos away from home, making Facetime calls with 3G networks in OS prior to iOS 7, or using functions like Panorama on devices that do not incorporate it natively is impossible without carrying out the process jailbreak because Cupertino blocks them by default.
  4. Accessories: having a jailbreak means enjoying, for example, non-original accessories such as lightning cables. But also to make connections with devices that have nothing to do with the Apple world, such as the option of using a PS3 controller as a game controller. And this is just the beginning….
  5. Security enhancements: Although in the App Store we find some apps related to privacy and improved security, Cydia is undoubtedly the one that takes the jackpot. Only with the jailbreak can we enjoy functions that considerably improve data protection and access to our terminal. To give an example, we highlight BioProtect or BioLockdown for iPhone 5s. There are also messaging apps designed to protect conversations by encrypting them, for those who want their messages to never be read.

And since we talked about good reasons to jailbreak an iPhone, I leave the list open to all those who want to contribute new ideas for the newest who are still thinking about carrying out the process. Are you up for it?

I have an ipad mini and an iphone 5, I used cameraconnection kit lightning and not original, but I can no longer use it with ios7, what tweak is used to make them work? unauthorized lightning cable enabler alpha does not work !!

      Hello Gustavo:

I post the link in which we talk about the tweak you mention: https://www.actualidadiphone.com/2014/01/09/como-utilizar-cables-lightning-oficiales-en-tu-iphone-e-ipad-gracias-al-jailbreak/

At the moment, there don't seem to be any big problems with him. Tell me if you need more help.

      Regards!!!

that tweak does not work .. it is not even in the repos .. any other ideas?

        1.    Cristina torres said

I don't know why the truth has been taken away. It's pretty weird. In any case, the same tweak is available (same name and data) in the hackyouriphone repo. You have to add it to Cydia, and be careful because it contains content that infringes copyright. If anything, this tweak is not the case. And tell me.

          Regards!!

Can iPhone 5S be Jailed on iOS 7.0.5? Or do we have to wait?
    Regards!

    1.    Cristina torres said

Yes you can. In fact we have talked about the subject in this post: https://www.actualidadiphone.com/2014/01/30/ios-7-0-5-sigue-siendo-vulnerable-al-jailbreak-con-evasi0n7/

However, that update only contributed things to Chinese networks, so it would have been better not to download it.

I just restored my iPhone 5s because I had done the jb to test it for a couple of days. Honestly and honestly, before I went crazy waiting for the jb, as I suffered waiting for it to come out for iOS 6, time killed me, but nowadays, already older with iDevices (I use Apple since iOS 4), I am quite according to iOS 7, and, the only tweak that I am sincerely dying to have because it seemed to me the most useful of all was BioProtect, the rest is like ... Nah, we're going to get there, Apple evolves and increasingly reaches the demand for the user, 7 is a clear proof. But hey, I just share an opinion.

I've been doing jb since geohot's face appeared in the process and I have to say that I have never had such an annoying jb! With the official repos no problem but it is to put another open a tweak and the appstore jumps all the time to an application which they advertise And of course to have the official repos I leave it without jail .. I don't know why they do this because it makes you want to delete the repo. So far the jb works well in 7.0.5

Hello, I wanted to ask you for help.
Does anyone know of a tweak that shows notifications of app updates, but of apps that are not installed ???
Please would be a great help.
    Thank you very much.

  10.   arielaco said

It is not a tweak, but appshoper (appshopper.com) can "subscribe" to an app, adding it to a wish list or to my apps and it alerts you when price changes or updates

    1.    arielaco said

      Appshopper I should have said

Before I was like crazy waiting for the Jailbreak, but since I have iOS 7 on an iPhone 4 I don't miss it so much. It must be age as well and especially thinking about our privacy and how our data may be traveling from one place to another without knowing it. Today I do not Jailbreak because nobody assures me that in this process someone introduces some invisible "program" by which my data is not safe. Nowadays, having a good database with personal data is highly valued on the black market and I am a person who performs banking procedures from my phone and the truth is that I do not feel very confident in executing a process that I do not see as very transparent. Greetings.

Hello, since I jailbroken my iPhone 4s with iOS 7.0.4, the status bar remains static at all times, except when I open applications downloaded from the appstore, open the photo reel, look at the photos and / or videos and the Status bar does not disappear, after a few days in the mobile data settings, the activation buttons of the applications so that they do not waste my data do not have an effect that deactivates them since when I close the settings and reopen they remain activated.
I think it may be a jaibreak bug but since the first version of Evasi0n7 I have these problems that forces me to restore completely since it is very annoying to always see the status bar and not be able to manage my data correctly.

If you have a problem similar to mine and have solved it, please help me not to be resetting to zero, thank you very much in advance.

    Good!
I have some doubts about it and I think I am in the right place.
I am not to use Jail since I think that the terminal does not perform the same ... Battery, etc ... But I am thinking of trying it before they release 7.1
I use iCloud for my backups, if I do Jail, can I upload it? And if I load it and decide to remove the Jail, can it affect when charging it again?
Am I correct that performance worsens?
I have more questions but for now I think it will be fine ...
    Greeting!

    1.    Cristina torres said

      Hello Manu:

About the performance is partly true, but it depends a lot on how many tweaks and what type you are going to install. On your question, you can continue making your backup copies with JB. And in case you want to remove it, you just have to restore everything. I do not know if I have helped you, because your question about iCloud has not been too clear to me. In any case, anything, I'll try to solve it for you.

  15.   nico said

Hi, I'm new, I use the iPhone 5 at home. and what throws me back is that performance. Many people tell me that if you put it on, the iphone doesn't go as fast. And if I put it on and I want to remove it, would it remain the same afterwards?

    1.    Cristina torres said

Performance is highly dependent on the tweaks you install. If you want to remove JB, you just have to restore the device to iOS from the factory. Greetings!!!

  16.   Hello said

Jailbrewing an iPhone today is ridiculous ... 4 or 5 years ago I did it ... but today I have done nothing wrong with the iPhone as is. Jailbreaking today can only bring you increasing instability on your mobile and many possibilities of information being stolen. If you want that, better grab an android terminal and stop fooling around. After many years messing with all kinds of terminals, I prefer the experience that Apple gives me by far both in the operation of the terminal and in the apps that are much better and above with the 99% security that they do not have a "bug" thanks to Apple controls.

    1.    Hello said

Oh, and doing JB to save himself four paltry dollars on hacking applications seems a shame to me. Generally the apps are very cheap and behind there is a developer who works it out, so do not be such a rats ... What in other things if you throw money away without it hurting so much.

Hello friends, I am new to an iPhone 5c, I am familiar with the jailbreak since it came from a long experience in Android with root, in iOS7.1 I have been able to enjoy a faster, simpler and more elegant interface, I would like to know if there are some tweaks to solve several changes that I want, the first thing and it is something that has me chained is not being able to download free music and be able to play it in the native music application, like when I store files from PC, I currently use copytrans to store music, the second and something else What seems to me an unusual limitation is not being able to share mp3 files neither by Bluetooth nor by wifi, much less by whatsapp, I would like to know if when doing jailbreak there will be a tweak that will help me with these limitations, I would also like to download free games since it is almost impossible to pay in dollars and not in the currency of my country, and something important, there will be a tweaks that will allow me to root out native iOS apps such as compass, passbook, stock market , maps, the weather, which I actually only have as an ornament because I don't use them at all. I think I do get those solutions with your help and advice I might decide to jailbreak my iPhone. Thank you very much for your time.

It seems very bad to me, buying such an expensive cell phone, or rather expensive, to think about saving a few dollars for a game or a song, I am sure that in your country credit cards can be used for international purchases in dollars, nothing is impossible, besides there are people who worked to earn that money, I just think it would be like stealing. For what to share by wifi and BT I have nothing to say
