83% of American teenagers have an iPhone and 20% plan to buy an Apple Watch

Pipper Jaffray has published the results of the biannual survey that he conducts every year among young Americans. This survey, conducted among more than 8.000 high school students in the United States, like all the previous ones, shows us how the iPhone is king in this age group and that the Apple Watch is slowly making its way.

Among the more than 8.000 students interviewed, 83% say they have an iPhone, followed by 9% who enjoy an Android. Of all respondents who claimed to have an iPhone, 20% of them say they also own an Apple Watch. Of the 9% who claim to use an Android smartphone, 2% own a Samsung Gear.

Of all the users who were part of this survey and who claim to have an iPhone, 22% plan to buy an Apple Watch in the next 6 months, 1% lower than the same survey carried out by the company six months ago.

This study also provides us with information about the social platforms most used by young Americans. Despite the incredible growth that Instagram has had around the world, Snapchat, the source of inspiration for Instagram, is the favorite platform for this group.

41% of respondents share and send ephemeral videos through this platform. 35% do it through Instagram, while both Twitter, like Facebook, is only used by 6% of young Americans. Pinterest also appears in this survey of social media usage with 1%.

This study also shows us other data such as that spend an average of $ 2.600 a year, with food being the priority among men. Footwear is gaining ground in the money they invest every year, however, clothing accessories have less and less weight in this community.
