Apple's most expensive and exclusive headphones, left to their own devices

AirPods Max

Apple announced very interesting improvements for the AirPods Pro 2 together with the presentation of iOS 17, such as "Adaptive Audio". However Your most expensive and exclusive headphones are left out of these improvements.

The "Adaptive Audio" is the new functionality that the AirPods Pro 2 will gain with the arrival of iOS 17, but We also have the "Custom Volume" and the so-called "Attention to conversations". What does it consist of? Apple itself explains it to us:

With an all-new listening mode for AirPods Pro (2nd generation), adaptive audio dynamically combines transparency and active noise cancellation to tailor the noise control experience as you move between changing environments and interactions throughout the day. of the day

Custom volume uses machine learning to adjust your media experience based on your preferences over time and the environment around you. If you start talking to someone nearby, Conversation Attention automatically lowers the volume of any media, reduces background noise, and enhances the voices in front of you.

After a couple of days testing these new features after installing the Betas on my iPhone and my AirPods Pro 2, I have to say that, although there are bugs that still need to be polished, they are features that I see.an to make our AirPods magical again compared to other headphones. I no longer use noise cancellation on the street, nor the transparency mode, because the new "Adaptive Audio" works really well and eliminates noise when there is noise without isolating me from my surroundings. And when you start talking to someone, the volume decreases to listen to them, it even pauses the playback until you finish speaking, all automatically. It's just magic, and I love it.

However, my AirPods Max that I have on the shelf and that cost me more than twice as much as my AirPods Pro 2, with their premium materials and their undeniable quality sound, are left without these novelties. Headphones with an official price of more than €600, which remain at the same price as on the day of their launch (except for some offers on Amazon) and which will not receive the latest news that Apple has announced. Can anyone understand it? I certainly don't. Yes, I know that the excuse is the H1 processor that these AirPods Max have (the AirPods Pro 2 have an H2 processor), but That your most exclusive, most expensive and most premium headphones remain without updating is not acceptable. Make no mistake, I'm still delighted with them, their sound is really good, and their design and materials are unique, but I certainly won't recommend anyone to buy them at this point. And we'll see if I bite again with the next model they launch.
