This new way for iPhone or iPad application developers to promote their creations in the App Store through searches was announced at WWDC 2016. At that time was only available for the United States. Currently this list has been increased. Although after the summer or by the end of it, Apple will expand this option to more countries, including Spain.

There are two variants of this advertising platform through the App Store - remember, only valid for iPhone and iPad applications. One of them is Search Ads Advanced and Search Ads Basic, this second option being the most advisable for independent developers and not with so much budget. What is intended with this platform? Get more visibility of applications through searches made by users in the application store.

Basic Search Ads

As we say, currently this type of advertising and promotion of jobs is only applicable in some countries: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Australia and Switzerland. However, this list will grow by the end of next summer reaching other countries such as: Japan, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea and Spain.

Also, we give you some touches of what you can do with this new tool. Before we start, we will tell you that will be paid per installation or cost per installation (CPI).

That said, Search Ads Basic is the first step and maybe the one that more developers want to use. It is an easy-to-use tool in which you only have to set your goals: what you want to invest, the application to be advertised and the CPI you set for it. Apple will do all the rest. Of course, there is a Monthly amount limit to invest in campaigns: $ 5.000.

However, with Advanced Search Ads, the parameters that you can control: on which device — or devices — you want your ads to be displayed, choose the keywords, there is no monthly budget limit or you will have detailed information on your audience, etc. All this, as we tell you, starting at the end of next summer. So, and as a user, start preparing for the ads in the App Store.
