Yesterday was a busy day for Apple. The final version of iOS 13.7 which includes the new Express Exposure Notification system in relation to COVID-19. It was also officially launched the seventh watchOS 7 developer beta with a peculiarity. And it is that Apple decided not to release the seventh beta of iOS 14. This implies that Apple could be in a hurry to integrate and stabilize the versions of watchOS 7 before the imminent launch of two new Apple Watch next week.
The seventh beta of watchOS 7, now available
Watch 7 is the new operating system for the Apple Watch that will be launched in the fall of this 2020. It was presented at WWDC last June and since then the developers have received beta versions to check that everything works perfectly. The purpose of this is to achieve a final version called 'Golden Master' totally stable to distribute to all Apple Watch in the world. Some of the novelties of this new version is the automatic detection when washing the maps, integration of bicycle routes in Maps, new exercises, improvements in hearing health, shortcuts as an application, new complications and sleep analysis.
Yesterday Apple released the seventh beta of watchOS 7 for developers. If you have the previous beta, you would need to have at least 50% battery in your Apple Watch and be connected to the power to be able to update it. To do this, you will have to go to the Watch app on your iPhone and proceed to update. No big changes have yet been found in this seventh beta, but as soon as we have something new we will publish it as soon as possible.
Will we have an imminent launch of watchOS 7 with the Apple Watch?
Reports and analysis published in recent days point to two new Apple Watch next week. It would be the Apple Watch Series 6 and a cheap Apple Watch SE, which will be launched without an event in between through a press release available on the Big Apple website.
These new Apple Watches are likely to launch next week and begin shipping the third week of September. These new devices may already have watchOS 7 with them. This gives us a clue as to why Apple is in such a rush to release the watchOS 7 betas: having the 'Golden Master' before the launch of the new watches. Also, remember that Apple has not released beta of iOS 14 this week, which could indicate that there is a more advanced development team.
