Apple Music Hi-Fi arrives totally free and compatible with DolbyAtmos

After a wave of rumors, leaks, advice and even wishes from all kinds of users, comes the key piece that makes the most sense if possible the launch of the past AirPods Max. The Cupertino company has decided to launch Apple Music HiFi, a streaming music service for the most exquisite that won't cost you a single euro more.

New high-quality music streaming service Apple Music Hi-Fi will offer Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos at the same price. All this is accompanied by a new technical implementation that many users did not expect until now.

One of the big criticisms of Apple has been not adopting the codec aptX Qualcomm for Hi-Fi Audio. Now all this has been solved through the format ALAC (Apple Looseless Audio Codec) that will achieve lossless 24-bit / 192 kHz quality. Obviously, this will be a hard blow for our data rate and for the storage of the device This is because if we store about 1.000 songs offline with the new Apple Hi-Fi system, we will find ourselves occupied around 10 Gb of memory in total, something like a third of the songs that we could have stored in the standard format.

Headphones with the ability to reproduce Hi-Fi audio will be necessary, while in the case of Dolby Atmos, it will reach all AirPods models with a W1 and H1 chip as well as the Beats on duty. Stay tuned, because the iPhone 12, the latest Macs and iPads also inherit Dolby Atmos and spatial audio.

This evolution of Apple Music towards Apple Music Hi-Fi will arrive from the month of June and it will not be necessary to pay a single cent more, since it will be included in subscription packages such as Apple Music or Apple One. This evolution of the service is yet to be seen if it will arrive on the iPhone in principle or if we will definitely also enjoy it on Apple TV, for example. Now it will be up to Spotify to move, which announced a high-fidelity music service during the year 2021, but in this case it will have an added cost.

It seems to me a great idea, it was time for Apple to put something free, because you have to pay for APP that are free on Android. Thank you for your information.
I hope to continue counting on you for many more years.
