The new release of the AirPods 4 and AirPods Max 2 further expands Apple's range of wireless headphones. This advancement will allow users to purchase modern, updated wireless headphones and even with the ability to active noise cancellation without having to go for AirPods Pro 2. The new AirPods 4 also eliminate the physical pairing button that was located on the back and turns into a haptic sensor which allows you to perform the same functions. We will tell you everything below.
AirPods 4 do not have a physical pairing button
Until now, the AirPods charging case had a physical round button that, when pressed, allowed certain actions to be performed. These included resetting the headphones as well as activating pairing mode to connect to other devices. This button was useful, although users sometimes pressed it, activating unnecessary and involuntary options at certain times.
To avoid that, Apple has removed the physical pairing button from the back of the new AirPods 4. Although there is no official sign of this feature in the Apple's official website, the middle Gear Patrol has had access to them and has described what their new aesthetics are like. They stand out, above all, The new LED light located at the front which has become dimmer. This light allows the status of the case and the AirPods to be displayed much more discreetly than in previous generations. The light disappears when the charging case is closed and does so without fading away little by little as it did in other generations.
Also, the rear pairing button is gone and Apple has removed it. has been replaced by a capacitive button on the front of the case. If the user presses twice on the front, the pairing mode will begin. And to activate the factory reset, it is believed to be through a triple press or a long press.
We'll see how functional this new way of pairing AirPods is, although everything seems to indicate that it is much less cumbersome than having a physical button.
