The services that Apple presents and never exploits in Spain

Apple Pay

Today we are here to look back, literally. We are going to do a little review of these types of services that Apple presents as novelty and functionality, but that for some unknown reason never exploit in Spain. The passivity of the Cupertino boys in this regard is astounding on some occasions, ¿¿How many services, software and applications has Apple presented and in Spain we do not enjoy? Unfortunately they are quite a lot and today we want to do a review, trying to understand why this ugly Apple to its Spanish public.

Although it is true that the apple market share in Spain is negligible, a territory clearly dominated by Android devices. It is no excuse for the marginal situation of Spain in this regard.

News

Apple News on Twitter

For those who do not know (and it is normal if you have not followed us for a long time), News is the platform that Apple put in the hands of all publishers to bring the news directly to your iOS device without the need for you to go to third-party applications or social networks. Thanks to News you will have collected all the news of your interest in a single place, world-class publishers and newscasts also publish their activity here. To give you an idea, the closest thing would be Flipboard, saving the distances of course.

Well, here we have the first of the services that Apple insists on presenting and that never reaches Spain. According to the latest information, News already has more than 70 million unique users and has signed important advertising agreements. The question is: Why can't we read anything in Spain? We do not know the reason For which Apple has let News die in our territory, however, the application has been present in both the United States of America and the United Kingdom for just over a year.

Apple Pay

The mobile payment service that aimed to proclaim itself as the most secure and expanded in the world. Apple Pay is already present in the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, China, the United States of America, Australia ... And also in Spain, we have to be honest and remember that it is possible for a lucky few to use Apple Pay in Spain since December last year 2016, just over two years after the service was presented and was proclaiming itself a success wherever its use was allowed.

Different is the case of Spain, here only three platforms can enjoy their capabilities: Banco Santander, Carrefour Pass and Ticket Restaurant. Of which, only one can be considered a financial institution from head to toe. Very large banks in Spain such as BBVA or Caixa Bank have been left out of this agreement, which is generating a lot of controversy. Meanwhile, Apple Pay in Spain is little more than a dream for the hundreds of thousands of users who look forward to making our first contactless payments through the iPhone and leaving all credit cards at home once and for all.

iPhone Upgrade Program

iPhone Upgrade Program

How difficult it is to fight with a company to get a latest model iPhone, almost as difficult as going to one of the few Apple Stores available in Spain and spending a huge amount of money for it. However, Apple has what is known as iPhone Upgrade Program, a system that has been present since the arrival of the iPhone 6s and that allows us to release a new iPhone annually by paying a fixed monthly price that ranges between 20 and 30 euros. However, Apple decides to ignore this tempting possibility in Spain.

A way of always being up-to-date that would undoubtedly exploit a lot in Spain, a country that tends to take advantage of the financing of the operators to get the latest mobile in question, with the difference that in the iPhone Upgrade Programm you would release device annually.

What an obsession with Apple Pay. Well, you're lucky because Spain is one of the few places where it doesn't matter which bank you have, you can use Apple Pay through Carrefour Pass, which is a card that you register, you associate with your bank account and enjoy. Because of what use is it to me that 10 bencos have the service if none of them is mine? Much better this way. Because just as you don't open an account at Santander because you have your money in another bank, the same happens if BBVA and Sabadell finally enter if I have La Caixa and I don't want to change. Then there will be articles why La Caixa does not enter?

By the way, EVO has confirmed that it will have Apple Pay.
