The association Collation for a safer web, has sued Apple by do not delete the Telegram messaging application, after having eliminated Parler, despite the fact that both were used by extremists to attack the Capitol last week.
It should be remembered that Parler was quickly eliminated by both Apple and Google and Amazon stopped providing them with hosting services shortly after the incident when it was shown that had been used to organize protests and for not having a moderation system.
This lawsuit was filed last Sunday in the North Carolina District Court in the United States by Marc Ginsberg and the Coalition for a safer web. In the lawsuit, this group states that "despite Apple's claim that Telegram is being used to intimidate, threaten and coerce people, the application is still available in the application store."
Telegram is aware that its application is used by extremist groups and far from going on the subject, fight to fight them daily, especially since the Capitol incident occurred, as we can read in CNN. However, this organization affirms that Telegram has not taken any measures to fight the proliferation of this type of group.
Ginsber sent a letter to Tim Cook last July asking him to will remove access to Telegram for "inciting extremist violence" as it violates a large number of App Store guidelines since the app was launched in 2013.

It would not be the first time that Apple expelled Telegram from the App Store, since in 2018, it temporarily removed the application due to the presence of child pornography groups. Last October, Apple asked Telegram to remove different groups available on the platform related to the protests in Bioelorussia.
