We are not very clear why WhatsApp modified this option in the new versions of the application but it is possible that you are in a previous version and therefore you do not have the active option to receive notifications of archived chats.
This can be a problem when we archive a chat and it is that at that moment if we do not have this option activated we will stop receiving notifications of the messages that they send us, so it is possible that more than one of them will be "angry" about it ... Out jokes today we will see why some users do not receive notifications of archived chats and the solution is simply to update the app and the iPhone itself.
And it may seem silly but not everyone has up-to-date updates to applications or the operating system and this causes that as happened to an acquaintance did not see the same as me in the menu of the WhatsApp application. To put a bit of thread to this story we will say that after several messages in which I did not even see as read, a call and later meeting solved the problem.
In short, if you cannot update or simply do not want to, you can adjust this option so that notifications of archived chats reach you, "it is not necessary to update" although it is totally recommended to do so to avoid attacks or system or application failures. The menu in question is this:
And it is that this option that appears in Settings> Chats indicates that archived chats will remain archived when you receive a new message, hence notifications will not be received if this option is activated although a small number does appear in archived chats indicating that there are unread messages.
In any case, the important thing here is that if you want to receive notifications of these archived chats, you have to keep this option deactivated or update to the latest version, as you can see in the screenshot above this option disappears in later versions of WhatsApp. Surely many of you are here precisely because notifications of archived chats do not reach you, now you know how to solve it.
