Apple presented its quarterly balance yesterday and, although we cannot say that it was a catastrophe, it was the first negative balance since 2003 (those of "Apple is doomed" are already rubbing their hands). At the event, Tim Cook spoke about the entire economy of his company and his mobile payments service is one of Apple's products that are doing the best, increasing by "a tremendous hundred percent." Compared to the same dates last year, Apple Pay is being used five times more.
Although in countries like where a server writes it has not yet arrived, Apple has been betting heavily on its mobile payment service by taking it to stores and banks since October 2014, when it was presented together with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple Pay has arrived recently to China and Singapore, but at the end of 2015 it also reached Australia and Canada. Previous countries joined the United States, where it is available from launch, and the United Kingdom.
Apple Pay should arrive in Spain this year
In the United States alone, Apple Pay is available in more than 1.000.000 locations. If we count all the establishments in which it is available, it is already in 10.000.000 stores. But even if the numbers are so good, Apple's mobile payments service doesn't bring them many benefits, or at least not directly. Apple Pay can be a point of comfort to invite us to use some services on the block that are providing important benefits.
And when will Apple Pay arrive in Spain? Well, there is nothing official, but rumors say that we can pay with Apple Pay in Spain in 2016, along with other countries such as France, Brazil and Hong Kong, so we will have to have a little more patience.
