Since Apple will officially present CarPlay at WWDC 2014, little by little different car manufacturers have been implementing this technology in their vehicles and today it is very difficult to find a manufacturer that does not offer this technology as an option when buying a new vehicle.
During the CES that is being held these days in Las Vegas, the manufacturer Kenwood has presented siete new devices compatible with CarPlay technology, devices that fall within the eXcelon range. The main novelty that these new devices offer us is that they are completely wireless, so it is not necessary to connect a cable to be able to enjoy this technology.
The new Kenwood models that support CarPlay wirelessly are:
- NX996XR
- DDX9906XR
- DDX8906S
- DMX906S
- DNR876S
- DDX8706S
- DMX9706S
These devices they can be connected to our iPhone via bluetooth and Wi-Fi, while most car manufacturers only offer the connection through the iPhone's lightning connection, although BMW and Mercedes have begun to offer wireless models that do not require a cable to be able to get the most out of our iPhone from the vehicle multimedia center.
Through this technology, we can access from the multimedia panel of our vehicle to the applications installed on our iPhone and that are compatible with CarPlay such as Apple Maps, Apple Music, Podcast, Overcast, Spotify, SiriusXM Radio, Pandora, WhatsApp, Downcast, Slacker Radio, Stitcher, Google Maps, Waze ...
These new models are also compatible with Android Auto and Google Assistant, so if we change the terminal, it will not be necessary to also have to change this device. At the moment, the prices of these new models have not been announced, so if you are interested you will have to pay attention to the website of this manufacturer, since it has not announced the availability either.
