LG is placed in second position as supplier of OLED panels for Apple

A news leaked by the Korean publication ETNEws, would confirm what we have been seeing for some time regarding the main providers of flexible OLED screens for iPhones. When we say flexible, you already know that we mean curved and that they are the ones that have been used in iPhones for a long time.

In this case, a report that was leaked in the Korean media indicates that LG has passed the quality tests required by the Cupertino company with flying colors, so factories are already preparing for mass production of OLED panels for Apple.

As they count in ETNews, This leak does not provide more than another confirmation of what had been said since last April or even earlier when numerous media already spoke about the good position of LG to run as the second manufacturer. LG was willing to take part of the cake in the manufacture of this type of panels and it seems that now everything is ready for this to be so. In addition, LG became the main supplier of OLED screens for the Apple Watch last June.

Possibly part of the screens of the newly introduced iPhone XS and XS Max with their OLED screens will be manufactured by LG and Samsung. The new iPhone XR is equipped with a 6,1-inch LCD screen so this would be left out. In any case, Samsung Display is entrenched in the first place in terms of the production of OLED screens for Apple and it is possible that this will continue like this for quite some time since it is the most powerful in this regard. Now LG will join with its screens and therefore Apple will be able to enjoy another powerful provider for the manufacture of these screens for the iPhone of now and those that will come in the future.
