Lockinfo 8 Videoreview: Improve your iPhone's Lock Screen (Cydia)

lockinfo-8

If there is a tweak that is updated year after year, adapting perfectly to iOS changes and improving its features, that is undoubtedly Activator. A Cydia classic that when Apple announced the notification center many gave up for dead, but nothing could be further from the truth. Its developer is currently developing the new version for iOS 8 and has published a Beta that we have tested and that we show you below in images and in a video to see it in operation.

lockinfo-8-1

We could say that Lockinfo 8 basically does is bring the notification center to the lock screen of iOS 8, but it would not be fair because incorporates many more things that make it much better than that. As you can see in the images, with Lockinfo installed we will have all our widgets on the lock screen, without having to display the notification center, but we will also have their own widgets, such as weather information, favorite contacts or calendar widgets. It also allows us to close those widgets that we do not use so much, that we can open just by pressing the header.

lockinfo embed pages on lock screen, sliding to the right and left we can go through them. To the home page with the widgets we must add the page with the notifications, which we can clean in a "stroke" by sliding down and releasing, and the weather forecast page, with quite detailed information. We can also choose to use an animated wallpaper that shows the current weather.

lockinfo-8-2

Lockinfo configuration is done in two different places. On the one hand we have the system settings in which we can modify some details, especially the appearance of the tweak. But also from the notification center itself, at the bottom (where the widgets are configured) we will access a menu different from the one that appears in iOS 8, with the widgets of the installed applications, the Lockinfo widgets, and within each one display options on the lock screen and on the status bar icons.

You can see all this and much more in the following video in which you will see the tweak in action. To install it, you just have to add the developer's repo in Cydia (http://apt.dba-tech.net/beta) and install Lockinfo 8. Keep in mind that it is only a Beta and that it still has bugs, although in the time that I have been testing it nothing serious, only some unexpected respring and some widget that does not update its information on occasions.

Great review! I am one of those who do the jailbreak specifically to be able to use Lockinfo, and I have been using it for many years.

I have installed the beta on an iPhone 6 Plus, and it does not work for me on the lock screen, neither the contacts nor anything appear. I have configured to see the favorite contacts, the calendar, etc., but nothing comes out Any idea of the problem?

    Thanks in advance

you will have some tweak that is incompatible because I carry it precisely in the plus. try uninstalling it and installing it again to see if it works for you. And if not, check the installed tweaks that influence the lock screen

Be careful Antonio, they are «favorite» not «recent» contacts 😀

Hi Luis, on the iPhone 5 with iOS 7, I had LockInfo7 and now I would like to have LockInfo6 on the iPhone 8 with iOS 8. A few days ago I did the test adding the repo and installing the beta, but I could not get it to work because as soon as I did the respring I entered safe mode. I see that it is improving and it does not give problems. But I wanted to ask you a question since I see that you use it continuously. If there are now 3 windows on the LockScreen (Widgets, notifications, weather information) when a notification arrives, such as WhatsApp, and the iPhone is locked, how does it get to the lock screen? Is it the notification window and then it is hidden in the second window? I don't know if I explain myself XD

  3.   Luis Padilla said

You explain yourself perfectly. It appears as when you do not have any tweak, that is, the notification alone. When you unlock it goes away, and there are three pages left again. If there are no pending notifications, the notifications page disappears and you only have widgets and time.

I have an iPhone 6+ and neither the contacts nor the weather widget work correctly.

Thanks Luis. In the end I have encouraged myself and I have reinstalled it. It works fine for me. Even the contacts widgetS. And I have even gone further, I really like the PriorityHub tweak because notifications arrive in private mode, only the icon with the number of notifications appears, and when you press the icon, you see the message. Well, I have installed it too, and the two tweaks work. So I can have what I like about both of them \ o /

Luis, I have Intelliscreen X installed, but I uninstall it before installing lockinfo ... I'm sure, somehow, that's the source of the problem 🙁

  7.   Gorka said

Hi Antonio, sure not, SECURITY. They are two tweaks that completely modify the LockScreen. And I don't think you can make them work at the same time. What's more, I find it strange that it doesn't respring you or I entered Safemode.

  8.   Antonio said

Well, I don't know how to do it: I have uninstalled Intelliscreen, I respring, I install Lockinfo, and it doesn't work?

    1.    Luis Padilla said

Try restarting to see if you get it. As Gorka tells you, they are not compatible tweaks and they may have generated conflict and there has been some residue that is causing it not to work for you. Sometimes restarting you get it solved.

I've already restarted it, Ñuis, and it doesn't work. I will have to reinstall IOS 8.1.2 and re-jailbreak 🙁

    Thank you very much anyway
