Netflix video game service now available on iOS

If just a week ago we informed you that Netflix had launched its video game service starting with the Android ecosystem (we leave you here the link to the news), since yesterday liOS users are in luck and now we can also enjoy the service on our devices.

The implementation of the service raised doubts as to how Netflix was going to offer video games exclusively that are downloaded from the App Store freely. The solution has been simple: having to log into your Netflix account once you've downloaded the game.

We have the possibility of downloading Netflix games from the streaming app itself, where we will get a pop-up from the App Store to download directly or searching for them by name in the App Store, where they will also be available. No matter the method we choose, when starting the game, it will ask us to log in with our Netflix account to be able to play it and thus verify that the user has a payment account.

In this way, not only does Netflix offer games through the App Store, but Apple continues to validate (in the same way as for the rest of the applications) their content by having to be published in the App Store. That is to say, All content that Netflix offers for video games must be validated by Apple and meet the requirements of the App Store.

For now, we only have a limited number of games: Stranger Things: 1984, Stranger Things 3: The Game, Bowling Ballers, Shooting Hoops, Card Blast, »and Teeter Up. These, in the same way that we already discussed for Android, They appear in the Netflix app itself as one more line, in the same way as if they were series or movies.

We will see if the service manages to expand in the Apple ecosystem and compete with Apple Arcade, thus promoting mobile video games. For now, we will have to wait for the catalog to get bigger, much bigger. But it is clear that having the service within the monthly subscription (which has recently risen again and everything points to this service), is a plus for its use.
