Several Apple vendors in Vietnam shut down due to spike in coronavirus cases

This year is going to be especially tough for the tech industry in general due to the lack of electronic components which is affecting both the automotive industry and the manufacturers of electronic devices. In the absence of components, Apple has to add one more related to the coronavirus.

According to Bloomberg, two suppliers from Vietnam have been forced to close its facilities due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, which could affect Apple's manufacturing plans if this shutdown takes too long.

According to this medium, the government of Vietnam has ordered the closure of the Foxconn Technology Group and Luxshare Precision Industry Co plants in the country, due to the increase in coronavirus infections in the north of the country, following orders from the president of the Popular Committee of Bac Giang province, Le Anh Duong.

This committee has sent a group of sanitary inspectors and officials to organize the disinfection tasks and help them to organize to be able to resume production as soon as possible without contributing to the spread of the virus. Initial plans are to resume production within two weeks to limit the disruption in the supply chain as much as possible.

Moment we do not know what Apple products are that may have been affected by this outage. The Asian company Foxconn is moving part of the assembly of the iPad and MacBook to Vietnam from China, but in addition, it has also moved the production of AirPods.

The making of the iPhone too was affected in India For the same reason, due to the increase in coronavirus cases a few weeks ago and to which a large number of riots were added by workers who, obviously, did not sit very well in Apple's offices.
