Currently, if we want to make quality video calls with our iPhone or iPad, in the market we have two excellent options: FaceTime and Skype. Microsoft's messaging and video calling platform, Skype has been introducing in recent years, a large number of functions, which will soon be joined by one more.
I'm talking about the possibility of sharing the screen of our iPhone or iPad while making a video call. The possibility of share the image and audio of the video call It will allow us not only to record it but also to share it through Microsoft Teams, the platform with which Microsoft is standing up to Slack.
As well will allow us to share it with other users of the call, in order to show exactly what we are talking about, be it a presentation, a document that needs to be modified, an image ... all this using multitasking that will allow us to continue with the video call in the background.
Until the arrival of iOS 11 this was not possible, since Apple did not allow access to system functions such as screen buffer. Thanks to this modification of the API it is possible that third-party applications can have access to the screen recording function, a function that is used to share the screen of our device in a video call.
In order to share the screen of our terminal we can do it directly from the application itself or by clicking on the button to record the Control Center screen. Before starting the recording, we have to give our consent to be able to send the content of our screen to the rest of the interlocutors.
At the moment this function only is available in beta, so unless you are users of this beta for iOS, you will not be able to enjoy it until Microsoft officially launches it on the market.
