If you like sports, you will know that this year the Olympic Games in Rio are being held. Most likely, you already have a favorite medium to find out the latest news, but the Rio 2016 official app, from where we can find out not only the breaking news, but also when they will happen thanks to the schedules of all the events to be held in the next Olympic Games.
What is perhaps the most interesting at the moment is the section "Route & Torchbearers" (route and torchbearers). As its name indicates, from this section We can see where the Olympic torch goes and other information, such as photos or who is carrying the torch at a particular time. Or, well, that's the theory, because at the time of this writing, no carrier information or images are available. I imagine this information will appear when the bearer is a celebrity.
The Official App of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
The other section that I think is worthwhile in the Rio 2016 application is Spectator guide, from where we can see the competition schedules. If I have to be honest, I am not very clear about the information it shows, but I imagine that the gray dots mean that there is a qualifying phase and the medals indicate that it is the final phase. In this section there is also information on the Paralympic Games and the cities where a competition is held.
Although the application offers us all the information we could wish for about the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, it has a flaw that seems very serious to me: from my point of view, a sporting event as important as the Olympic Games cannot have an official application that is only available in the language of the country where they are held and in English. But hey, in any case, we already have an official application in the App Store.
