The App Store breaks revenue record while Apple highlights its services in 2020

Apple announced yesterday that new year's day has obtained a new income record in a single day exceeding 540 million dollars while the Cupertino company celebrated some highlights of its multiple services throughout 2020.

Reviewing what this 2020 has been like, Apple has announced that the most downloaded apps of the year were Zoom and Disney +While games on the App Store "have become more popular than ever." Apple emphasizes that developers around the world have earned more than 200 billion (American) dollars since the App Store was launched in 2008. Additionally, App Store users would have spent 1.8 billion (again Americans) on digital goods and services counting only the week between Christmas Eve and New Years. Especially in games.

2020 has also been a record year for Apple Music. More than 90% of iOS14 users have used some of the possibilities offered by the service such as "Listen now" or "Autoplay", while the service of lyrics in real time in the songs doubled compared to last year.

Apple also highlights that the Apple TV app is now available on more than a billion (also American) screens in more than 100 countries and regions, helped by its launch on televisions from LG, Sony, VIZIO Smart TVs and also by its availability on PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Apple too highlights its content line for Apple TV + in 2021, counting on the new season of Dickinson, Servant, For all Mankind, The Morning Show and See. They will also include new exclusive content such as Losing Alice, Palmer and Cherry.

Other notable points according to Apple are the increase in Apple Books users in 2020, which reaches 90 million active users every month. Apple Pay is also available in 90% of stores in the United States, 85% in the UK and 99% in Australia. Finally, Apple also celebrates the launch of its Fitness + service (only in the United States at the moment) and highlights the importance of giving users "high-level journalism" through Apple News.

It certainly seems to have been a prolific year for all Apple services and it seems that they will continue to grow and become an increasingly important part of their business.
