The weather forecast does not appear in the notification center of iOS 7? Activate location services

weather forecast iOS 7

For a long time, the notification center of iOS 7 has been able to show us the weather forecast of the city in which we live. The information provided is not as complete as the one we can see in the system application, but it is useful to know the temperature and some other information.

With the arrival of iOS 7, it seems that we have regressed in this aspect and the weather information is now presented with text, none of the usual icons that we see in any meteorology application in the App Store. It even seems that there are many users who the weather forecast does not appear Since they have updated to iOS 7, why is this?

Well, the problem is simple to fix but confusing if we do not know how the weather forecast that appears in the notification center works. To begin with, bliss forecast is independent of the cities that we have configured in the application of the weather, hence many users have their city correctly configured in the app but then do not see the forecast in the notification center.

The second signal that causes confusion in the notification center is the one you can see in the photo just above. In it you can read that the meteorology data is provided by Yahoo but they do not appear on the screen. How do I solve the problem?

What we have to do is go to the Settings menu> Privacy> Location and make sure that we have enabled the «Time» switch. If it is deactivated, that is what caused us that the forecast did not appear in the notification center.

With this we can deduce that the weather forecast that appears in the notification center always corresponds to our current position, whether or not we are in any of the cities that we have within the native application of the system.

Much less practical. We are increasingly forced to have location services activated. By God more and more, privacy 0%. Dislike. thanks for the article, days ago I had that question.

There is a reason why they want to keep us under control ... like that famous complaint that Apple had to rectify and remove the geolocation of users from an iPhone.
apple kept at all times where we were located !!!

What is another incredible step back from iOS 6 and let me explain:

In iOS 6 you could decide to deactivate / activate the location, in the latter case it will always show you the time in the location you are. This can be very useful for those who are constantly traveling, but for most, that is, for those of us who unfortunately spend most of our time in the same city and who only leave it during the holiday period, it is an absurd position. that the prediction or measurement that we need is only the one that we program in the time application, obviously that of our city.

Why do I say it is a step back? Well, very simple, the one that the location is activated every time (or every little) that we unlock our terminal uses battery; an expense that is totally unnecessary if, as I say, we are always in the same city. In iOS 6 "only" a little of the data rate was spent since it has to connect with the Yahoo service. However, in iOS 7 apart from that small cost of data rate, which on the other hand is totally logical, we also spend battery in the location that as I say in most cases is totally unnecessary. In addition, it must be taken into account that precisely the location is one of the things that uses the most battery.

How difficult and complicated was it to at least leave this as it was? And I'm not referring to the beautiful icons that existed before because with iOS 7 we already know that this is impossible; but by not having to have the activated location for eggs with the unnecessary expense that it entails.

I am 100% with you, this is a clear step back from iOS 6 and it certainly affects the battery. Hopefully they will enable both options in future updates. Greetings!

Does this also apply to the iPad? It is that I do not get the weather forecast on my iPad and I assumed it was normal since in iOS 6 the weather application for the iPad did not exist, but with this article I am left wondering if now in iOS 7 it does not appear for not having it configured correctly, or because the option still does not exist.

I can not solve the question, I have not had one for a few months. See if another user can help you.

Of course. The time appears the same in the notification center of the iPad, and to activate it you have to go to the same section that they put in the article.
      regards
