In a couple of weeks a decade is over and another begins. Many are the applications that have passed through the App Store since it began its journey. The guys from App Annie have made a look back at the biggest apps of the decade.
As you might expect, this ranking shows us some surprises though, though most of them are the ones we all have in mind. The data that the App Annie guys show us have been obtained both from the App Store (as of December 31, 2011) and from the Play Store (as of January 2012).
Regarding number of downloads, Facebook has dominated the list of most downloaded apps, followed by the messaging application Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram in second, third and fourth place respectively. One of those that we can call newcomers that is in this classification is TikTok.
