Despite the fact that the next new Apple product will not be available for purchase until the end of the year, the information it is offering us about the new iPhone 8 and other Apple news is being invaluable. But now it's time to find out more about the HomePod, the company's smart speaker, from which we know how the configuration process will be of the same thanks to iOS 11 that already includes it in its code.
A very intuitive configuration, very similar to that of the AirPods, which will end up preparing the device to use it through voice commands and so on. to be able to know the news of the day, control our HomeKit accessories and, of course, listen to music. We show you the steps that will have to be taken to configure it from the iPhone.
As we said, the configuration process is very similar to that of AirPods, with a window that will appear on the screen of our iPhone when it detects that an unconfigured HomePod is near us. Following the instructions that appear in that window, the speaker setup will be straightforward and simple. We will have to select the language in which we want to have Siri (rare that it does not use the same language that we have on our iPhone) and enter the last 4 digits of the HomePod serial number. Finally, we can use the configuration of our iPhone so that the HomePod is configured automatically, without having to enter data such as the WiFi passwords, the Apple account and the like, something that already happens when configuring other devices from one already in operation.
Finally the HomePod will need to know in which house it will be placed and in which room. This is in relation to HomeKit and the Home app, as the Apple speaker will serve as HomeKit's control center. Once the process is finished, it can be used by voice commands to listen to music, set an alarm, control your HomeKit-compatible devices and know the news of the day.
