A few days ago we told you that the first units of the Apple Watch Series 7 had reached the media. And some usersupon their in-depth inspection, they had realized the removal of the support physical diagnostic port of the new Apple watch. Instead, the diagnosis made in the physical Apple Stores would be done through a new wireless diagnostic base that worked in the frequency of 60.5 GHz. Now we can see the first images of this base, leaked through a Brazilian communications agency.
Apple uses a wireless diagnostic base for support
The new diagnostic base for the new Apple Watch Series 7 is referenced as model A2687. Until now, watches in the Big Apple hid a support port that was connected to Apple systems in physical stores. With this connection, you could reset the device, reinstall watchOS, and technically analyze what might happen to the device.
El Apple Watch Series 7 stops incorporating this physical port to make way for a wireless data transfer. This transfer is done through this wireless charging base that we are talking about. It is only used for internal work and works through frequencies of 60,5 GHz. The base has two pieces as you can see in the image that heads the article. These images have been leaked through Anatel, a telecommunications company located in Brazil.
The lower part carries the charging base with the magnetic charger and a USB-C port that would connect to the systems of the big apple. On the other hand, the upper part allows the fastening of the watch and fixes it. The connection between the magnetic base and the bracket allows perform all kinds of technical diagnostics in secure environments through systems created by Apple, such as physical stores or authorized third parties.
