UGREEN USB-C Hub, an affordable and reliable dock for your MacBook or iPad Pro

USB-C offers us great versatility, but it forces us to change accessories with older connections, or to buy an adapter that offers us those connections. We tested the UGREEN USB-C hub, with a very interesting price which offers us a card reader, HDMI and 3 USB ports.

This adapter UGREEN bet on a wired design, in order to achieve greater compatibility, so that it can be used perfectly with any laptop, MacBook Air or Pro for example, as well as with our beloved iPad Pro. It only uses a USB-C connection of our device, and its connector is small enough not to disturb when connecting another accessory on the other connection of our MacBook.

It also has a nice anodized finish that does not clash at all with our Apple devices. It is small and very light, so you can easily take it with you accompanying your laptop or iPad Pro. A small bag or case is missing to be able to transport it, but considering its price, we cannot complain too much. Its external aluminum structure helps heat dissipation better.

This adapter offers us an SD and TF card reader, three USB 3.0 ports and a 4K 30Hz HDMI port. You can use all ports simultaneously, passing data from one to the other without any problem. The image quality that can be sent from HDMI is quite good, although limited to 4K 30Hz maximum. The stability of the connections is good, without glitches even when passing large files through them.

The only downside to this adapter is that no USB-C port. This is not a big problem when you use it with a MacBook Air or Pro, since you have other USB-C ports that you can use to, for example, charge your laptop. In the case of the iPad Pro, you occupy its only USB-C port, so you will not be able to recharge it unless, as in my case, you use the Magic Keyboard, which has its own USB-C to recharge the iPad Pro.

If you are looking for an adapter that allows you to use your “old” USB accessories or connect to a monitor or television, or read memory cards, this UGREEN USB-C Hub offers you all of this with a good design, a build quality for Above average, and a truly unbeatable price.
