Without a doubt, the most talked about feature of the new iPhone 5s is the verification through the fingerprint system or, as Apple calls it, Touch ID. This system supposes a complete revolution in smartphone privacy and represents a very big advance by Apple over the competition.
On the day of its presentation, Apple put available to journalists a few units to 'fiddle' with the new products', but it is not the same as a few journalists trying it, as millions of people around the world. So that this does not pose a problem, the Cupertino company has found the solution to be able to offer users an experience of how this new function of the iPhone 5s works.
We have learned that Apple has developed a application so that users can test the fingerprint reader in the Apple Store as well as in the telephone operator stores. This application is designed so that it only recognizes one fingerprint (instead of the five that the sensor normally recognizes). When we open the application, it will ask us to place a finger on the home button so that it scans it. When it is finished, the app will ask us to place our finger on the button again and will show us a sign indicating that the fingerprint has been correctly recognized. Next it will tell us to place a different finger than the one scanned, which will cause the fingerprint reader to fail in authentication.
Although this application does not show us how is it really the fingerprint sensor allows us to get an idea of how it really works. This app is restarted with each new user who is going to test it (obviously).
We have also learned that Apple has given specific instructions to its sales staff to properly inform all customers about all the news of the devices that will begin to market this Friday.
