WhatsApp is updated by adding a voicemail

WhatsApp voicemail

WhatsApp continues to release updates at a good pace, although many of us would like to see more features included in each update, such as the promised version for the Apple Watch or video calls. The last update of the most used messaging application on the planet does not come with that famous "bug fixes" that forces us to examine the entire application from top to bottom to find out what they have actually included, if not that it arrives with, in theory, a single novelty -already available from the previous version, as Cesar points out-.

The novelty that we can read in WhatsApp update 2.16.9 is related to the calls that we have been able to make from the application for a long time, but it does not add changes to these, but to what we can do if they do not respond / respond to a call voice. It's about a voicemail, something similar to the service that is available in practically any operator in the world. Its operation is very simple and we will explain it to you below.

What's new in WhatsApp 2.16.9

When making a WhatsApp Call, you can now leave a voice message if your call is not answered, just like voice mails.

When we make a call that does not receive an answer, the notice that the call has not been answered will be accompanied by a screenshot such as the first of the following:

WhatsApp voicemail

The "Voice message" button works the same as the one we have in chats, that is, if we touch on it a slider will appear with a time counter indicating the duration of the recording. When you release the button, the voice message will be recorded and our contact will be able to access it when they open the application - or they will receive a notification, something that I have not been able to verify personally. If we want to cancel the recording of the message that we were going to leave in the WhatsApp voicemail, we just have to slide the button to the left, which will make the microphone jump and go into a trash can just like when we cancel a voice message in chats.

It is clear that we would like them to add other news, since leaving a voice message in this way does not add much to an application that allows you to do something similar within the chats. As if that were not enough, as we have mentioned previously, this novelty was already available since the previous version, so the text included in the list of novelties is similar to the famous "bug fixes" that forces us to investigate on our own. Will this update have to do with the crash related to deleting messages that are not completely deleted? Whatever the real news, the rate of updates that WhatsApp has taken is appreciated.

Paul hello. But it was already from the last version, I myself used it several times to leave voice messages on unanswered calls. Very rare this update.

Hi Cesar. Well you can see. In the end it is the same as when they put "bug fixes". I will add the information. Thanks for the note.

      A greeting.

I don't know about you, but I would like more if you could send longer videos, or that you could send more "types of files" than the video calls that everyone wants.

Well, I send videos of more than 4 minutes without problem ...

      regards
