The WhatsApp update now available in the App Store

WhatsApp-iOS-7

The WhatsApp update has finally arrived on the App Store. Months after the launch of iOS 7, the most used instant messaging application in these latitudes is updated adapting to the new look of Apple's latest operating system. Just like it had leaked a few weeks ago, the appearance of the "new" WhatsApp Messenger is similar to the previous one, but with white backgrounds and photos of circular contacts. But it also includes some more news, although not too important, that are worth mentioning:

  • Mailing lists
  • Location sharing enhancements: 3D maps (where available), ability to hide places of interest
  • Larger photo thumbnails
  • New sounds for notifications within WhatsApp Settings
  • The application will use the text size that you have configured in the iOS Settings
  • New improved interface to handle blocked contacts, within WhatsApp Settings
  • Possibility of cropping the image before sending it

WhatsApp-Lists

The new "Broadcast Lists" are a different way to send messages to multiple recipients at once. Instead of creating a group in which all the contacts included have access to all the messages sent, establishing a group conversation, these new broadcast lists consist of sending the same message to different contacts, simultaneously but independently. An important detail is that only recipients who have your phone number included among their contacts will receive the message.

The update is now available for download on the App Store, although screenshots of the old version still appear at the time of writing. To prevent confusions, the new version is specifically 2.11.5, with a size of 18,6MB. Although we had seen some concepts of what the new WhatsApp could have been much more innovative than this update that is launched today, at least we can already enjoy this messaging application adapted to iOS 7, which was about time.

It is not to be negative but 3 months for that update ... It seems that they waited for everyone to update to just copy and paste the interface of IOS, Twitter and Facebook applications themselves. How disappointing, the only good thing is that it is no longer the old keyboard, but I repeat, nothing remarkable to take 3 months.

Are they my things, or does it go a bit on pedals ???

Pffff, all these months for this !! ... it has an impressive lag in some parts. Returning from a conversation to the chats either with the gesture of going back, or by pressing the "chats" button is grimy, as much or more than passing the chats nails by a blackboard ...

I do not like anything, it is very slow, Apple and whatsapp are disappointing with ios7, before everything worked much more fluid and faster

in accessibility activate the option reduce contrast and you will see how it goes without lag

Leaving aside that Android users can send previously recorded audio notes, now those of us who have iPhone cannot even send the ones that we record at the moment, we have to hold down the happy microphone ... At least the option to record notes returns audio, right?

As said, it is an update that does a "facelift", but does not include any revolutionary and unexpected improvements. A positive aspect to mention is that by dragging your finger from the far left of the screen to the right when you are in a chat, you can go back (as in most iOs7). On the other hand, I do not know if it happened to someone else, when I started using my terminal with the new WhatsApp it has consumed a lot of battery at once, but when it reached over 50% it has stabilized. I have also done a hard-reset. Someone else happens?

The same happened to me. He ate the battery in nothing and almost without using it.
I do not like at all how little fluidity it has, it takes a world to change screens and at least in my case, to connect.

In iOS 6 the appearance does not change, it is still the old one!

      If you have IOS6 like
It will look like IOS7… sometimes you complain nonsense.

Well, just like the Facebook Messenger application, for example ...

someone knows how to put the files and photos that you receive by watshap in another folder other than film. It sucks to see the photos from the camera and the things they send you all together
