WhatsApp will allow you to delete messages from conversations

WhatsApp users are finally going to see one of the oldest demands that fell on the messaging service met. It is about that the deletion of the sent messages will finally be possible. The messages that are sent by mistake to an unknown recipient, those messages that we sent and that we regretted after a few seconds ... can finally be eliminated from the conversation.

This new implementation has been uncovered thanks to the advancement of the functions of one of the beta versions of WhatsApp, according to the WABetaInfo website. The version in question belongs to the iOS operating system and is 2.17.1.869 that is already being tested on some iPhone devices and that, as is customary in these cases, the evaluation version will end up in the official application.

The operating mechanics have not yet been confirmed but it does seem to indicate that when the user deletes a message from a conversation, instead of the message itself, a text will appear in the body of the conversation that suggests that there was a message there. that has been removed. This is one of the functions most demanded by the users of this messaging service and it is already in use on other platforms, such as GMail, where users can undo the sending of an email either because it was sent by mistake or simply by personal regret of the sender.

Until now, messages that were deleted from WhatsApp conversations were only deleted on the device and not in the conversation itself, so the other person could still see that message. The company, owned by Facebook, has not yet made official the details of this update or when it will be available.
