Which tablet is right for you? Review, Tutorial and videos for you to decide

The technological trend of the moment for smart mobile phones has given way to companies creating devices that combine the best of a smartphone and the most valued features of a computer.

The result? A tablet PC or, in other words, a tablet computer. A device that became fashionable when Apple launched the iPad and that promises to further improve the quality of life for users.

Do you know them all? Do you know how they differ? How to choose the one that suits your needs?

the rest after the jump with all the data and videos on the main tablets.

Apple: iPad

The iPad was introduced in January of this year. It is supported by a 1 GHz processor speed developed by Apple itself, which they have called A4. It has a 9.7-inch LED screen with 1024 × 768 pixels resolution (the screen uses IPS technology to offer a greater viewing angle and has 132 pixels per inch).

It's a super slim device at just 1.32cm thick at the peak; its edges are rounded so that we can hold it in a more comfortable way; and its size is 24,28 × 17,87 cm. Weight is not a problem either: 680 grams for the standard version and 730 for the model with 3G connectivity.

The operating system is iOS 3.2.x, a pioneer in the tablet sector. Since its launch, the competition has been striving to launch devices that come close to the original concept of the iPad.

Samsung: Galaxy Tab

The Galaxy is the first attempt by the Korean brand Samsung to enter the world of tablets. He presented it at the last IFA 2010 electronic fair in Berlin and its price is around 850 euros.

There is a model with 16 Gigabytes of internal memory and another with 32 Gigabytes of storage. It uses the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and, unlike other tablets, it does not have a camera. It weighs only 380 grams, being the lightest of the tablets.

RIM: BlackPad

Its manufacturer is the Canadian company Research In Motion (RIM), the same one that makes BlackBerry.

According to unofficial information, the company plans to launch two different versions of its BlackPad, and they would be available on the market next week: a 7-inch and a 10-inch to compete with the iPad, which has an 11-inch screen.

If we compare it with the Apple device, we find similar characteristics, for example, it has a touch screen, one or two cameras and Bluetooth. However, you can connect to telephone networks only through a BlackBerry - The new product combines the functionalities of a mini computer, a music player and a multimedia reader. Unlike the iPad, whose operating system is based on that of the iPhone smartphone, the BlackPad will have a new platform, developed by QNX Software Systems, a firm acquired by RIM this year.

Dell: Streak

The Streak tablet belongs to Dell. The first generation featured a 5-inch touch screen, with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels and a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

A few days ago, the company announced its second version. It will have a seven-inch screen, that is, with the same screen size as Samsung's Galaxy. The operating system will be Android. It should be remembered that Dell launched its first Streak trying to make a gap between the size of smartphones and tablets connected to the Internet.

This middle path does not seem to be the one definitively adopted by the manufacturer. The new tablet will be compatible with a wide catalog of audio and video formats and connectivity will be through 3G, Wifi and Bluetooth. It will weigh about 500 grams.

Dell's announcement comes the same week that RIM tablet leaks multiply. Coincidence or market strategy?

Hewlett-Packard: HP Slate

At the beginning of the year HP presented its tablet that is known as HP Slate and that would be on the market in the fall of this year.

It has some details that the iPad lacks: two cameras with which to make video calls (Skype), SDXC card slot and USB port. HP's proposal would be governed by an Intel Atom X530 processor and is capable of displaying images with a 1024 × 600 resolution through its 8,9-inch screen. Of course, it would have 1080p output to connect the Tablet to a high definition television.

At the storage level, it has 32 GByte internal flash memory (expandable through an SDHC slot) and 1 GByte RAM, although in this section it cannot be increased since it will be soldered directly on the motherboard. There will also be a version with 64 GBytes. The HP Slate will run on Windows 7.
