Hello friends. It worked perfectly for me by calling AT&T directly to the phone number they published above. I bought my iPhone 4 on Ebay. The first operator who attended me told me that I was eligible for the release but required the purchase invoice. I called again and a boy attended to me to whom I explained exactly the same and if he did it without any problem and without an invoice. I did not pay anything and in three days I could see on a page that my iPhone is unlocked. I passed iTunes and voila.

I called AT&T a few days ago asking for the release of a 3GS and today I received an email stating that the case had been successfully resolved but the iPhone is still blocked, I'll wait a few more days and if it's still the same I'll call you back.

I work in Customer Service Att. In order for Att to release the iphone, they simply HAVE TO HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH ATT WHERE THEY USED IPHONE AND PAYED FOR IPHONE SERVICES AS WELL AS HAVING ENDED A 2-YEAR CONTRACT OR HAVING PURCHASED THE IPHONE FULL PRICE BUT SHOW PROOF.
The only 2 ways to release it, of course it is not safe but it is what they ask to release it 🙂.
