You now have 14 days to return the games and applications from the App Store

App Store

Apple has updated the terms and conditions of the content that is sold in the iTunes Store from the European countries, adapting to the consumer protection laws among which we can see that, from now on, a window of 14 days to return the downloaded content and get a refund, no matter what apps, games, music, etc.

If we stop to read the iTunes terms and conditions in Spain, we can read the following clause:

Right of Cancellation: If you choose to cancel your order, you can do so within 14 days of receipt for no reason, except for iTunes Gifts, which cannot be refunded after the code has been redeemed.

To cancel your order, you must inform us of your decision. To ensure immediate processing, we recommend that you use Report a Problem to cancel all items except iTunes Match, except if purchased from a third party or already redeemed, iTunes Gifts, and Monthly Allowances, which may canceled by contacting iTunes Support. You also have the right to inform us using the model cancellation form below or with any other clear statement. If you use Report a Problem, we will send you an acknowledgment of your cancellation without delay.

To meet the cancellation deadline, you must submit your cancellation notice before the 14-day period is exceeded.

Effects of cancellation: We will refund you within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice. We will use the same form of payment used for the transaction; no fee will be charged for the refund.

Exception to the right of cancellation: You cannot cancel your order for the provision of digital content if the delivery has started after your order and acknowledgment of the loss of your right to cancel.

On the one hand, this measure seems to me perfect to avoid deception. Yes, in the App Store there are applications that try to deceive the user with descriptions and images that then have little or nothing to do with the real application. In these cases, this measure seems perfect to me.

The problem is that we already know the picaresque of many and considering that some games can be played in a matter of hours, it will not be strange to see how people buy them to return once enjoyed. We have to be aware that this measure is to protect ourselves as users, not to take advantage of the work of the developers since I will not tire of saying it.

The iPhone is the mobile that we all like thanks to the App Store and in one way or another, developers have to see a reward for their work, especially if it is well done.

Excellent measure given that there are many apps that are not what they seem and so developers will be encouraged to update the app and improve them so that the client is comfortable

This is actually getting up to speed on Apple's part, it's nothing to be attributed to their "generosity." In Spain there has been at least a period of 14 days for a long time to be able to withdraw any purchase contract, as the article itself indicates.

And, how is the return made?
