A bug in iOS 8 allows us insert folders within another folder, a very useful organization option that Apple does not allow as standard but that, thanks to this failure, we can achieve it in a very simple way.
This bug seems to be compatible with any iPhone model that has been updated to iOS 8, therefore, you can even try it on one of the new iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus. To get a nested folder in iOS 8 you just have to do two simple steps:
- Create a folder that will be our nested folder, that is, the one that will be inside the containing folder. In it we can enter all those applications that we are interested in having in the second level.
- Now we create a second folder grouping two applications that we have on the home screen. When we see that iOS 8 proceeds to create the folder, very quickly we rush to drag the folder that we created in the previous step, so we will get it to be inserted inside.
To facilitate the process, make sure that all the applications you want to group are close to each other, so the process of creating nested folders will be much easier.
What is it for us to have nested folders? As we have already mentioned, this can be useful for purely organizational reasons. If we regret it and want to leave everything as it was before, simply drag the applications out of the folder until they reach the home screen again. If you have overdone creating nested folders and the process of going back becomes too tedious, you can go to the Settings menu> General> Reset> Reset home screen.
This is still a bug so it is assumed that Apple will fix it in future updates to iOS 8, preventing the creation of nested folders officially
It already existed and it could be done in iOS7 ……
yes but with iOS 7.1 the bug was lost
and if it is not a bug, just this and that's it?
It is a bug because either you do the steps as described in the post or you cannot nest folders, if it were allowed, dragging would work and it cannot be done that way.
Nacho is not for nothing but I have put folders into folders from iOS 7. Not a new bus, the article is still very good
But if nobody has said that it is new, only that the way you do it in iOS 7 you do it in iOS 8 ...
For iPad mini can it be done?
