Add a GPS to your iPad WiFi

Bad-Elf-GPS

Would you like to use your iPad to have a navigator in the car? The iPad screen is a luxury to use as a GPS while driving, but iPad WiFi, without 3G, does not have GPS, so it can't be used even though you have a navigation program such as TomTom or Copilot. Or at least until now, because Bad Elf GPS offers you a small accessory, the size of a coin, that connects to your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch and adds the GPS to your device. If you have bought the TomTom, CoPilot or any other browser for your iPhone, with the help of this accessory you can also use it on your iPad WiFi, with the advantage of having a larger screen.

The device connects to the 30 pin connector of your device. Yes, it is not yet compatible with the Lightning connector, so it is only compatible with iPad 3 and earlier iPad models. Also with any iPod Touch that has that connector. The device uses the power of your iPad to function, but there is no need to worry because it incorporates a microUSB connection with which the iPad can be charged using the USB cable that is included. It is a GPS with 66 MTK channels, so the quality of reception is guaranteed.

The compatibility with localization applications is complete, but in any case, the product website has verified it with the most important applications, and it is compatible with all of them. You will have no problem using it with TomTom, CoPilot, Navigon, Sygic… You have a complete list of compatible applications on its official website. The price is about € 115 and is available in many online stores in Spain. In other countries a code is included in the price to download the CoPilot program from the App Store for free, but in Spain I have not found any that offers it.

More information - The TomTom navigator is now compatible with the iPhone 5

The truth is that for that price you have GPS and 3G included in the iPad. It's not worth it if you haven't bought an iPad yet.
