Add the weather to your iPad's Notification Center with WeatherUnderground (Cydia)

WeatherUnderground-iPad-01

Oddly enough, adding the weather forecast to the notification center of our iPad is not an easy task, or at least it was not until now. Because thanks to a new application that we have available in Cydia for free, "WeatherUnderground for Notification Center", we will be able to add a widget with information about the current weather and the forecast for the next four days. The steps to follow to achieve this are very simple, and as you can see, the final result in the notification center is not bad at all. The top bar with the WiFi, bluetooth buttons ... has nothing to do with this application, it is the application NCSettings.

Weather-Settings-1

Once the application is installed, we must go to Settings> Notifications, and place "Weather Underground" inside the notification center. By clicking on this option we can configure some aspects of the widget.

Weather-Settings-2

There is not much to customize, but we can establish the time in which the data will be updated, as well as the temperature prediction period, configurable up to 36 hours, in which it will indicate the trends of the real temperature and the thermal sensation. In the last section we find the space to enter the API Key. It is a key that we can obtain in the Weather Underground page and that allows us to obtain the data from its website. Registration is free, and when obtaining the API Key we must select the options "Anvil Plan" and "Developer", so that the monthly fee remains at zero euros. Once we obtain the password, we enter it in that box and we will have our widget with the weather information in the notification center of our iPad.

In addition to current information, if we slide to the right we will have the prediction of the next 4 days. Swiping to the left we will have the temperature trends and information about the weather channel, as well as the arrow to update manually.

The only downside is that the temperature appears in degrees Fahrenheit, but the developer has already said that in the next few days it will launch an update with the option to put in degrees Celsius.

Instructions to get the API Key

As many of you are having problems getting the API Keys, I will describe the process in detail. The first thing is to register at WeatherUnderground.com, it is completely free.

1

On the main page, go to the end, at the bottom, and click on "API Climate for Developers"

2

Now click on «Explore My Options»

3

Select "Anvil Plan", "No, I don't include the history add-on", "Developer" and click on "Purchase Key".

4

Fill in all the fields and check the last two options. Look at the image, in the questions answered "no". Click on "Purchase Key".

5

Everything is done, just what is hidden with the red box is the API Key you need (Key ID). Enjoy the time on your iPad!

Hello, I have a problem with the tweak and it is that it loads me very badly, not like in the photos: the font is small, without drawings and with incomplete text. Any solution?
    Thank you
