To begin we will say that Aetna is an American insurance and coverage company. This company has been in the country for more than 150 years and it can be hired all over the world, but an important part of the insured resides in the US, some 40 million Americans are covered through this veteran insurance company.
Now several sources indicate that the company could apply a discount on the price of the new watch or even the possibility of giving it away to its more than 23 million policyholders. We are sure that it will be the first thing but it is interesting this type of promotions and more when in the United States having medical insurance is totally mandatory. Having the Apple Watch model to measure physical activity, with the possible arrival of LTE and all the news is always a good claim to add customers.
Some 50.000 of current Aetna employees already have an Apple Watch on their wrists and therefore this maneuver would not be strange in the near future. The report comes from CNBC after the company held some talks with hospital executives and officials last week. There is talk about this possible reduction for incentivize policyholders and company employees to lead healthier lives and obviously the promotion would start in 2018.
In addition to more customers and employees with the Cupertino boys' watch on their wrist, this maneuver could be key to the future of the Apple Watch Series 3 since it would achieve good sales peaks if they continue to carry out this type of negotiations with external companies, something that they already do today from Cupertino and will continue to do so.
