I've been testing apps that promise to be remotes for Spotify with enough pessimism, and that I was not looking for the panacea of apps, but I settled for something as simple as what Apple offers with Remote, the problem is that it does not exist, but we can achieve something similar.
AirServer and AirPlay
This Apple technology allows you to send audio and video to other compatible devices in a couple of taps on the screen, without the need for any configuration and all with the usual simplicity of everything that Apple proposes, so it is very interesting to use in many areas of multimedia enjoyment, and among them we go to discover one that I wish had occurred to me before and that it is possible that some of you have already thought of it.
If we cannot control Spotify from the iPhone, the solution is as simple as using Spotify on the iPhone and sending the audio to the Mac. For this we will use AirServer, an application that makes our Mac / PC become an AirPlay receiver and therefore is capable of receiving audio and video from the iPhone, and even if we want to show the Apple phone screen in real time.
Almost perfect
At the same moment that we open Spotify on the iPhone and we connect the audio to the computer through AirPlay we realize that it is a success. We can manage music from the whole house with the best possible interface, which is none other than the official Spotify app. But the reality is that we have to look a little further and say that there are three things that can put a lot of people back, and I'm going to mention them because you have to say everything:
- La battery iPhone is spent faster, something totally logical if we take into account that we are constantly passing audio. I'm not worried about being at home because you charge it at any time, but I know that many of you look at the battery with a magnifying glass and you are not going to like it.
- AirServer it is paid. Specifically, you have to pay about 12 euros to change. For me, totally justified, but if you do not know if you are going to make great use of the application, it may cost you to pay them.
- Spotify must be Premium, since the normal version is limited to its use on mobiles. For those of us who use it every day for hours, what it costs is a gift, but for occasional use it may not be worth it.
If you exceed these three points you are a perfect candidate, but if you keep thinking about one, perhaps what I am presenting is not the best option for you. And it goes without saying that if you know of an alternative to my proposal (the apps that exist do not work because Spotify does not support them and they fail a lot), the comments are open so that everyone can know and discuss it.
How does it not exist? And Remoteless? I have been using it for more than a year and it is similar to Apple's Remote
Thank you very much for your recommendation, I am testing it and it is going very well.
Hi, another option, is to use Parallels or VNC. They have a client for the iPhone, and from there you can access the Mac / PC where Spotify is running.
I repeat myself, this time I will ask please to see if there is luck, someone to fire Carlos Sánchez and his "novel" discoveries, please.
Forearm thanks

Antonio, keep in mind that not all posts are equally useful for everyone. While there are people who already know everything even before we publish it, there are other users who can find this information very useful.
You have to deal with all the issues and although it is true that we have already talked about AirServer in the past, it is not bad to remember the possibilities that this app can offer.
A greeting!
Using VNC seems like a drag to me, the interface is poorly optimized for the phone.
An interesting option is to buy a USB Bluetooth Reciever, on ebay some barateros cost less than € 10 and it works conveniently, it is not infallible but it does its job well.
You put the USB in question in your music chain (if you have USB in it and if you do not power it with a nearby device), connect the audio output to the input of the Hi-Fi chain, and link the iPhone to the gadget through from the Bluetooth menu.
From that moment on, all the audio will be heard by the chain or by the PC if you had it connected there, and it works for Spotify, Youtube ...
Since I have a Mac I use Spot Remote.
