iOS 16 continues its journey in the beta period. Apple's new software entered a phase yesterday with the publication of the fourth beta for developers. This is in addition to the three previous betas, which are out of date, and the public beta that other users can access. A handful of novelties, which we analyze below, land to iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 with the fourth beta.
Interesting news in beta 4 of iOS 16
First, we find news in Posts. This new software, remember, allows users to delete and edit messages when they have already been published. In this fourth beta, what is modified are the maximum times for each of these issues. From now on, you can delete messages up to 2 minutes, a big change considering that in the third beta it was 15 minutes. On the other hand, the number of times we can edit a message has been set to five, each of them visible in the form of message history.
Continuing with the news, the app Email it has also added a configuration whereby the user can decide the “delay” with which the message is sent. In this way, we leave more or less time for “undo” a shipment. Options have been proposed for 10, 20 or 30 seconds.
On the other hand, iOS 16 in its fourth beta also integrates new features in C with a great new range of new wallpapers. Developers have also been allowed to start testing the feature 'Live Activities' which was announced at WWDC in June and until now we have not been able to see it in action.
A new information message is integrated when using the 'Table mode' in macOS Ventura beta 4 with which the iPhone or iPad can be used as an external camera making use of its complex front cameras to show the entire table in horizontal format. A tutorial is also added to make the most of the position of the iPhone to improve the view.
Other innovations at the design level come to beta 4 of iOS 16. Among them, visual improvements in the Settings app, a larger volume slider when we change the volume when we are in the Music app, a redesign of the playback widget on the home screen or new button available for 'Add widget' on the home screen.
Finally, the Health app has been modified, showing how much space each section occupies within the app. Also, they have integrated two new wallpaper options on the home screen and a new design when modifying said home screen.
