Although it is taking longer than normal, Apple is gradually keeping its word and this adding public transport information to its revamped map service. Currently there are very few cities that have this type of information, so Apple must hurry more if it wants users to stop depending on the Google Maps service of the competition.
Information on public transport routes It was one of the novelties that Apple presented along with the arrival of iOS 9. This information allows us to design the route to our destination using only the public transport routes where we are. The last two cities that already enjoy this feature are Mexico City and Hong Kong.
Currently the cities that offer information about public transport through Apple Maps are the following:
- Baltimore, Maryland
- Berlin Germany
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Chicago, Illinois
- London, England
- Hong Kong
- Los Angeles, California
- Mexico City, Mexico
- New York City, New York
- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- San Francisco, California
- Sydney, Australia
- Toronto Canada
- Washington
- China
But the Apple Maps service has not only added information about public transport, but has also used to add more cities from which to enjoy Flyover or 3D view. The new cities that Apple has added this new view are:
- Aomori, Japan
- Bruges, Belgium
- Lake Powell, Utah, United States
- Limoges, France
The growth rate of the new functions that Apple is including each year in its Maps service is quite slow, and depending on the rate it has been adding information about public transport, we will have to wait a lot for users to be able to enjoy only one Maps application to obtain this information.
