Apple begins patenting iOS 7 icons

ios 7 face time

Apple wants to ensure that even the smallest detail of its products is patented so that it will not suffer copies in the future. The lesson has been well learned since a document from its rival, Samsung, came to light, in which it was clearly seen how the operating system installed on the South Korean's mobile phones was compared with iOS. The objective of the document: that even Samsung smartphone icons will look like Apple's.

So it is not surprising that the Cupertino company has begun to patent icon designs for your native applications. This same week we have learned, thanks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office, that Apple's headquarters in Cupertino have patented the design of the new FaceTime icon.

The document sent by Apple describes how the icon in iOS 7, which now sports bright and flat colors.

We know that the company is working on the redesign of some of the new icons, which have not seemed to be well received in the user community, but it seems that in the case of the facetime icon design Apple is clear about it and will leave it as it is right now.

Are you a fan of the new FaceTime icon or did you like the old one better?

Pablo, he is clear with everyone, if any color palette changes a bit, but the icons will be the same in the final version of iOS 7. It is for this and for the rest of the system design (which is a real nonsense) I already have more than assumed that I will no longer update my iPhone 5 or my iPad 3. When they die due to lack of updates (I hope more or less 2 or 3 years), I will change my smartphone and system.

Some will say ... "man with the jail surely you can put the look of iOS 6". The problem with this is that Winterboard will be totally necessary and I have always fled from it because it is a real resource hog; also, I think it would be very difficult to restore to iOS 7 the splendor that iOS 6 had, let's say "in full", although well, it's the last hope I have left, to me and the millions of customers who have been loyal to Apple but above all to his philosophy, which was none other than design at its finest in both hardware and software. The latter has been destroyed with iOS 7, we hope that at least in the hardware aspect they do not do the same, although with this precedent I can expect anything. Of course, the leaks of the back covers of the low cost iPhone do not bode well, garish and strident colors as well as not being able to fully match the system.

There is evidence that some colors are changing and the weather app may show the weather of your location at that time.

Not bad, but it gets confused with the call icon due to the color, at least it was that they choose the same previous color, lead.

The truth is, I just want to block the internet.
The one that answered my sms through the browser,
    The phone reset.

Those three cydia apps I liked.
Anyway, everyone has their point of view, I personally as long as my battery does not eat, nor is my balance good.

It's like computer OS there are always preferences. you can never please everyone- 😀

I do not understand people who say that they are going to change the operating system just because they do not like the icons or the interface ...... more when the majority are those who defended the fluidity of the system

You continue to misuse the term patent. What Apple does is register the design of the icons, either as a Trademark (I doubt it) or as a design, but in no case is it a patent. Greetings

Apple is more interested in patenting things than in evolving and offering the user better devices at more competitive prices.
Apple's future is similar to its past, a retail brand with a very small number of users.

My first mobile was an iPhone 3Gs and I have seen how Apple has progressed, now I have the iPhone5 and after seeing and testing the beta2 of iOS and seeing iOS 6.1.4 again I think that iOS 7 is a bulgar copy adapted from Android and Symbian (Nokia operating system) to avoid receiving demands some things have changed but they should have worked better for them
