Apple has recently launched a new ad for its iPhone 6s with a very important component of humor. In this case, the advertising space has a clear protagonist. With permission from Apple's smartphone, the popular Cookie Monster from Sesame Street is the focus of the new applet's mobile spot. During the announcement, Triki - that's the name of the blue monster from Sesame Street - appears cooking cookies and using Siri to activate the timer on the iPhone.
In this campaign, the company that Tim Cook runs aims to highlight the fact that Siri is always active, permanently, waiting to be called. To do this, you simply have to say "Hey Siri" and the famous Apple smartphone assistant is automatically activated. This is possible since both the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have Apple's A9 processors mounted, as well as the M9. These chips allow you to use Siri without having the device connected to the power, which was necessary in previous iPhone models.
While the Cookie Monster waits impatiently for the cookies to be ready to be taken out of the oven, he also uses Apple's voice assistant again. A new "Hey Siri" lets you play Jim Croce's song "Time in a Bottle." As this is happening, he moves around the kitchen, gobbling a wooden spoon, and complaining about the wait he's in for until the end of baking his favorite culinary treasures.
The protagonist of this ad, which is called "Timer", is one of several famous people that appear in different Apple campaigns. What is very characteristic of this spot is the fact that it is the first non-real character to star in an advertisement for the American company. Previously, stars like Jamie Foxx, Bill Hader, John Favreau and Stephen Curry have starred in Apple commercials, highlighting features such as Motion Pictures or 3D Touch.
My favorite Sesame Street character, introducing the iPhone, that must mean something. Hehehehe.
