Apple defends itself and argues that the "gelatinous screen" is a normal thing in LCD panels

iPad mini 2021

A couple of days ago we commented right here one of the "problems" that some users of the new Apple iPad mini are encountering. The problem is that the screen makes a effect «Jelly Scrolling»Or gelatinous screen when scrolling both up and down.

In this sense, we already indicated in the article that this gelatinous screen effect was a problem that affected some of these new iPad mini and now Apple meets the accusations to report in the well-known Ars Technica medium that gelatin shifting is normal behavior for an LCD screen.

The popular medium MacRumors and other specialized media in Apple reported the problem and now also show the response of the Cupertino giant. The issue is that users who have already noticed this effect on the screen of the new iPad mini can no longer "stop seeing" at least for now. As we warned in the previous article, it is possible that this effect ends up being adapted by the human eye and goes unnoticed, but in some cases it can cause dizziness and even headache or discomfort.

Apple says it is normal for LCD screens and this is a problem

Beyond what the media or specialists may say, the problem is that Apple classifies this effect as "normal" on LCD screens. And yes, this means that all users who are not satisfied with this jelly-like screen effect they probably won't be able to order a replacement device. The product can be returned within the first 14 days as usual but there will be no guarantee for this defect if we become aware of it after the first two weeks after the product was purchased.

On the other hand, we cannot doubt the ability of Apple to solve these failures and it is possible that a software update will end up correcting the failure in a considerable way. Apple will not stop trying to fix this effect by stating that it is "normal" on these panels. They are surely looking for a solution in this regard.
