Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), remains ironclad as far as its standards are concerned, the App Store is its unbreakable beach bar and that's how it will continue to be as long as they can have that power that so many companies try to take away from them. The last example is that Epic trick with Fortnite that gave so much to talk about and that seems to be running into borage water.
Fakespot has recently been removed from the iOS App Store and everything is due to a misuse of the functions that Amazon itself has denounced. A giant complaining to another giant to squander a little one, isn't that ironic?
According to Macrumors, Jeff Bezos' company (Amazon) filed a formal complaint with Apple requesting the removal of Fakespot. This application that has only been available for a couple of months on the iOS App Store It allows users to log into Amazon through its search engine, and while you take a look at the products, it is analyzing the reviews about them. As you can imagine, the intention of the application is to detect questionable reviews and thus avoid buying a product based on reviews that are completely false, something unfortunately increasingly common in the largest online store in the world.
This has not seemed to please Amazon very much, which accused Fakespot of violating the 5.2.2 guideline of the App Store that prevents applications from monitoring and displaying content from third-party providers without prior authorization. According to Amazon, the information Fakespot displays can be misleading (sort of like fake reviews). From This way Apple has done the same and has proceeded to the immediate elimination of Fakespot, which seems to have its days numbered, because we cannot imagine how the service will be able to survive as long as it does not have the authorization of Amazon.
