Apple knew the problems of "Bendgate" and "Touch disease" long before admitting them

Surely many of you remember the "Bendgate", that supposed failure that caused the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to bend easily. During the weeks after the launch of these iPhone models, we were able to watch dozens of videos on YouTube of people who with supposed astonishing ease could fold these new iPhones, which spread like wildfire on the internet.

Although this was not really the case and this problem in the end was not such with normal use of the device, it was there was another problem that derived from it and that was known as «Touch Disease», which caused the touch screen to stop responding, and which was supported by Apple launching a specific repair program. This problem caused a lawsuit against Apple and in the trial that is taking place these days some interesting details have been revealed in which it is shown that the company knew about these problems before launching that repair program.

Apple knew that its new iPhones were less sturdy than the iPhone 5s and could be bent more easily. Specifically, their studies determined that the iPhone 6 was about 3.3 times less resistant and the 6 Plus up to 7,2 times less resistant. And they knew this even before the terminals were launched on the market thanks to their own internal studies. These data do not mean that the new terminals were not resistant enough to be launched to the public, simply that they were less so than the 5s. But it did end up causing a problem: the chip that controlled the touch interface ended up detaching from its connector and the touch screen stopped responding.

Apple admitted this problem, and launched a replacement program for terminals suffering from this problem in November 2016, but priced at $ 149 to get a "new" (refurbished) terminal. In the documents that are in the possession of the judge of the case, the company already knew about the problem before this program and in fact as of May 2016 (6 months before) it already corrected the problem in the new manufactured terminals, fixing the problematic chip better. This data can be important and could cause an unfavorable judgment that would force the company to return all the money to the affected users who took advantage of the program.

I dealt with both bendgate and touch disease and ended up paying for a new terminal. I hope the court rules in favor of users who have had to deal with so many problems on the iPhone 6 Plus.

I said it in another forum and I repeat it here. I have had the Iphone 6s. No problem at all. The question is, what the hell do you do with a phone to DOUBLE IT ???. I don't know ... do you sit on top of him? Maybe you try to remove nails as if it were a hammer?
I can't imagine what can be done in normal use to DOUBLE A PHONE !!!

I have a 6s Plus, and I think I remember that the alloy of the 6s is stronger than that of the 6. That is why they do not bend.

Nobody said that your terminal be doubled, Pedro. The problem was with the previous generation.
