Apple launches a charger for the Apple Watch with USB C port

Apple got down to work this morning with the launch and reservations of the new iPhone XR in its full range of colors, but after a slight review of the web we came across an interesting novelty for Apple Watch users, it is It's about a charging cable for smartwatch with USB C port.

It is a charging cable with the usual magnetic base to charge the watch but that has a USB C connector. These chargers that Apple sells separately on the web since the watch was first put on sale, added a USB A port at the end for use with 5W chargers and now users have the possibility to buy this one with the new port.

The cable is currently only available in Apple's online stores and from what we have been able to read it will soon be available in the physical stores that the company has throughout the world. The price of this charger is 35 euros and it is only available in the 0,3m measure, at least in this first version. It is possible that in the coming days the longer 1 and 2 meter cables that we have available for models with USB A will also be added, but for the moment it is only in the shortest measure.

For now Apple says that these charging cables are compatible with the new Apple Watch Series 4, with Series 3, Series 2 and Series 1. Again, the Apple Watch Series 0 or original model would be left out of this accessory. The USB C port allows us to use the most powerful charger for our Apple Watch (which is that of the Mac), which means that it will load faster than with USB A, something that can come in handy on some occasions.
