This week, Apple has released updates to much of its software. IOS 9.2 was released with improvements to the Safari View Controller and new languages for Siri (among other things); tvOS 9.1 was launched with the main news that we can now search Apple Music using Siri and that the remote application is working again to control the fourth generation Apple TV; OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 released with system improvements and bug fixes; watchOS 2.1 was also released to fix bugs and a new version of Xcode to add support for Swift 2.1. With all this, something was missing: the iTunes update.
Well, this update has arrived today. The new version is iTunes 12.3.2 and adds the ability to see the works, composers and performers while browsing the classical music category of the Apple Music catalog. In addition, and as with almost all application or operating system updates, this update also includes stability and performance improvements to the application, the latter being important because it is the main complaint reported by users, especially Spotify users.
This new version comes a month and a half after iTunes 12.3.1, an update that also did not bring major improvements beyond bug fixes and performance and reliability improvements to the application. I think Apple would have to add more options to iTunes and Apple Music in general. Something that I would like and that it does not seem that they are going to add (at least in the short term) is something that Spotify does, which is to show the lyrics of the songs, something that Musixmatch offers them. If we are listening to music that we do not have downloaded and with the lyrics added, Apple Music users cannot see the lyrics of the songs, something that I do miss. In Cupertino they have to put the batteries.
