Apple releases fifth betas of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16

Beta day in Cupertino. All the new Apple software this year that is still in the testing phase just got a new beta update for all developers. All of the company's devices have a new beta version of its software. including the iPhones and iPads.

So barely an hour ago it was just released for all developers the fifth beta of iOS 16, and his first cousin, iPad OS 16 beta 5. One more step that brings us closer to the day of the official launch for all users, which will be when it's not so hot anymore...

Apple just released an hour ago the fifth beta of the software for this year's iPhones: iOS 16. A new exclusive version for developers. Within a few days, this same build will be released to all non-developer users who are signed up for Apple's public beta testing program.

But as usual, not only has the fifth beta of iOS 16 and iPad 16 been released. The betas of Watch 9, TvOS 16, and macOS is coming. So almost all of the company's current devices have a new beta build of their software from this 2022. AirPods and AirTags would be missing from the list.

If the final version of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 is ready in time, it may be released at the end of the September keynote. As I pointed out yesterday Mark Gurman, Apple is already recording its traditional September virtual keynote, dedicated to the presentation of the new range of iPhone 14 and Apple Watch this year.

And there will be a pending keynote, possibly for October, dedicated to the new Macs and iPads. It will be then when macOS Ventura officially sees the light for all users who have a compatible Mac. So between September and October, all Apple device users will now be able to test the new software for this year. Patience, there is less left.

I have the public betas of IOS 16 and watchOS 9 installed. To exit the beta program and have the official versions of IOS 16 and WatchOS 9 installed when they are released, apart from deleting the beta profiles, do I have to do anything else?

No, just delete them and wait for the new official versions to come out.
