The problem with Apple Music or Spotify among other music content platforms is the amount of material they have to manage. Millions of songs, and thousands and thousands of albums and artists, worldwide. A real outrage.
Now Apple Music has improved the presentation of "other versions" of the album we are listening to. From now on it shows you all the different versions of the album to which the song you are listening belongs belongs. All that are improvements, welcome.
Apple Music now has a much smarter way of handling alternate album versions, a somewhat late copy of the original service Beats offered. Before, if there was more than one version of the album that we were listening to, they only appeared on the artist page.
Now things are different. When multiple alternative versions of the album are available, they are displayed in a dedicated "other versions" section under an album's song list. This new section collects remasters, reissues, remittances, demos, deluxe editions and explicit versions of the same album.
You will only see the alternate versions when you touch the album cover. This is a much neater way of doing it than the previous one. This function was already implemented in the Beats platform, absorbed some time ago by Apple. In 2018, Apple Music already copied another feature from Beats. This was the separation of albums from singles and EPs on an artist page.
Also Apple Music now allows you to see the list of your most listened to music so far this year. Last year, Apple Music introduced the Apple Music Replay feature, which shows you your most listened to songs of the year. Since yesterday you can already listen to «Replay 2020», with the most listened to tracks of this year, although we are still in mid-February.
